Sunday, 05/25/03; Concord, New Hampshire
Rainy Sunday!
We left the Molyneux’s about 0730 after a very pleasant visit with Jane and Ray. It was raining and the forecast was for continued showers along the East Coast from Boston to Maine. We made good progress on the roads and the traffic was relatively light. Truck traffic was practically non-existent on this holiday weekend. The weather was too bad to even contemplate any sightseeing in Boston, so we continued our march northward, crossing into New Hampshire and then into Maine.

We had lunch in a small, but busy town of Ogunquit. Here, we reassessed our options and decided that the forecast for continued rain in the New England states for the next week, made it unwise to follow our original plan of going to Bangor and beyond into Canada. Instead, we opted to head west across New Hampshire and Vermont and into New York at Albany. Tomorrow, we will decide exactly where we will head after Albany. We will keep all of us in suspense.
The secondary roads we took from Maine into New Hampshire were typical “Model A” roads, so we didn’t make good time, but they offered enjoyable scenery consisting of budding leaves and red and white blossoms, only slightly dimmed by the fog and mist of the rain.

Now, we are at the juncture of the I-93 and I-89. We will travel a few miles west on the latter tomorrow morning before taking off on secondary roads. We hope that the weather will improve and that we can enjoy these roads in sunshine.
Tune in tomorrow, but wish us some luck with the weather,
The Four
