Wednesday, 06/18/03; Sacramento, California, Day Two

Lazy Day

Nothing big planned today. Olsons are staying with son, Randy, daughter-in-law, Dee and granddaughter, Hayley in Orangevale. The Smiths are holed up in a nearby motel.

The Smiths planned to sleep in late today, but awoke at 0530! After breakfast, Keith checked the transmission, overdrive and differential for lubricant and did some work on the A/C drain fittings. The Smiths did a little grocery shopping and rested until time to go to Randy’s

Dennis exchanged the tires on a front wheel and his spare to put a better wheel on the front. One front wheel had a couple of cracks. Then he helped gets some hay for Dee’s and Hayley’s horses.

That evening we all met for a barbecue at Dee’s and Randy’s. It was a pleasant warm evening with a cooling breeze. We enjoyed seeing the younger Olsons’ lovely home, their company and dining with them. Smith drove home before it got so dark that they might lose their way. We will be up at our usual times tomorrow and plan to leave the motel when the Olsons arrive – about 0730. Just in time to catch the work traffic!

Cars at Randy Olson's; Joan and Hayley.
